The Annual John Jay College Presidential Internship (5/06/16)

The annual John Jay College Presidential Internship is now accepting applications! The John Jay Presidential Internship will give students insight into the inner workings and management of a major educational institution. On top of the extensive experience interns will gain they will have a competitive and prestigious addition to their resume. This is a paid internship starting August 1, 2016 and ends May 31, 2017. Interns must work a minimum of 15 hours a week and a max of 20 hours.

 

Below are some general responsibilities:

  •  Conducting extensive online research and analysis of documents
  •  Drafting letters, memos, and concept papers
  •  Editing speeches and publications
  •  Creating and maintaining databases, power point presentations, and promotional
  • materials
  •  Attending meetings and events with the President and networking with stakeholders
  •  Coordinating events and conferences
  •  General administrative duties

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  •  Junior or senior at internship start (August 1st)
  •  GPA of 3.2 or higher
  •  Excellent research skills
  •  Ability to analyze and synthesize texts
  •  Ability to articulate viewpoints and present information concisely and accurately
  •  Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  •  Strong background in writing and editing
  •  Computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office applications (word, excel, power point)
  •  Interest in public policy and governmental affairs
  •  Ability to multitask and set priorities
