Public Safety Day (4/5/2016)

Check out Public Safety Day at John Jay College of Criminal Justice! The mission of public safety day is to raise awareness in the community by providing in-depth knowledge on how to handle certain dangerous situations. There will be three seminars throughout the day at which experts will speak about their area of expertise. Recruiters from different federal and local agencies such as the United States postal inspection service, ATF, NYPD, FDNY, and more, will be attending the event. If that’s not reason enough to come, there will be refreshments and raffle drawings every hour!

The three seminars are as follows:

Time: 11:00 AM

Topic: FIRE SAFETY AWARENESS

Presenters: David Rivera, Assistant Director of Public Safety

Lieutenant Christopher Reiser, FDNY and Adjunct Professor

Time: 12:15 PM

Topic: SEXUAL HARASSMENT/SEXUAL ASSAULT AWARENESS AND PREVENTION

Presenters: Silvia Montalban, Esq., Title IX Coordinator

Jessica Greenfield, Gender Based Violence Prevention & Response Advocate

Time: 1:40 PM

Topic: TOP 10 SAFETY TIPS

Presenters: Detective Lance Trent, NYPD Crime Prevention Specialist
