Your artistic talent can save a victim’s life! The New York Police Department is hosting its 2nd Annual Campus Sexual Assault Poster Contest. Raise awareness of sexual assault on campuses by submitting a poster that encourages victims to contact 911 or the Special Victims Division Hotline at (646) 610-7272. With up to a $2500 prize, the NYPD invites NYC undergraduates and graduates to be a part of this movement. The NYPD aspires to show support to victims of sexual assault and hopes that you do too!

Eligibility Requirements:

  • New York City student attending a public or private college or university
  • Full or part time student currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year undergraduate or graduate program located within the 5 boroughs of NYC
  • *Students residing outside of NYC but attending a college within the 5 boroughs are also eligible

Poster Requirements:

  • Must be original work
  • In addition to a message about reporting, posters must include the following statement: “Call 911 if in immediate danger, otherwise call the NYPD Special Victims Division 24 Hotline at (646) 610-7272.”
  • Plagiarism will result in automatic disqualification
  • Copyrighted characters (such as Superman) or copyrighted art will NOT be accepted
  • Only ONE submission per contest participant will be considered


  • Submissions begin September 19, 2016 at 7am EST
  • Submissions end October 19, 2016 at 5pm EST
