John Jay Job and Internship Fair (9/29/16)


John Jay’s bi-annual job and internship fair will take place on September 29, 2016 from 1:00pm-5:00pm. This is a great opportunity to meet potential employers and get your name out their. Employers participating include: the FBI, Macy’s, New York State Office of the Attorney General and many more!

This event is open for everyone! It is never too early or too late to network with potential employers! Dress code is business casual.

Pre-Law Bootcamp I (May 18th, 2016)


Apply Now for the Pre-Law Boot Camp I! This opportunity is free and works to assist students and alumni on their personal statements for law school. The entire program runs from May 31st to June 3, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. While all students are open to apply, the program is recommended to students interested in attending law school. The application can be found by emailing, and the deadline to submit the application is May 18th.

John Jay Active Shooter Awareness Campaign ( 5/16&20)


NYPD Shield is hosting a presentation at John Jay on active shooter awareness. In this presentation you will learn how to respond when an active shooter is in your vicinity, work with others during an emergency and how to follow instructions when law enforcement arrives on scene. This is a great opportunity to potentially network with NYPD officials and learn about general safety awareness.

International Academy of Investigative Psychology (5/13&14)

On May 13th and 14th, the International Academy of Investigative Psychology’s (IAIP) 2016 conference will be hosted at John Jay College! This is an exciting opportunity as it is the first time the conference is being held in New York City! IAIP is a well known academy of researchers and practitioners that apply social science to investigations and legal process’s. Investigative Psychology is a new area of psychology that works within the criminal justice system. These specialized psychologist help solve cases by analyzing the types of crimes committed and the types of criminals committing these crimes.

This years conference will focus on how research and practice in psychology are intersected. This is a great opportunity to learn more about careers and opportunities that are available with your major. This is also an excellent opportunity to network within the field of Investigative Psychology.

Public Safety Day (4/5/2016)

Check out Public Safety Day at John Jay College of Criminal Justice! The mission of public safety day is to raise awareness in the community by providing in-depth knowledge on how to handle certain dangerous situations. There will be three seminars throughout the day at which experts will speak about their area of expertise. Recruiters from different federal and local agencies such as the United States postal inspection service, ATF, NYPD, FDNY, and more, will be attending the event. If that’s not reason enough to come, there will be refreshments and raffle drawings every hour!
