The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) provides New York City residents ages 14-24 with PAID summer employment in July and August for up to six weeks.

Participants are selected by lottery for the program and selected participants are given the opportunity to work in entry-level jobs within the following industries:

  • Arts and Recreation
  • Educational Services
  • Financial Services
  • Healthcare/Medical
  • Hospitality/Tourism
  • Information Technology
  • Manufacturing
  • Marketing/Public Relations
  • Media/Entertainment
  • Real Estate/Property
  • Retail

Program Requirements

  • New York City Residents
  • Ages 14 – 24
  • Completed Required Document Checklist

THE SLEEKLENS ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM (03/30/17)

Sleeklens is a group of photographers and designers who work with Adobe Lightroom and Photography. They believe that individual effort and brilliance should be rewarded and wants to give back to community through this $2000 scholarship for 3 students. The scholarship is for the 2017-2018 academic school year.

Eligibility:

  1. Enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited University or College
  2. High school school students can apply but must show proof of legitimate college acceptance via letter
  3. Each student can only apply once per year. Previous winners should not apply as their applications will be disqualified immediately

Requirements:

  1. Submit an essay between 2000 and 2600 words to scholarship@Sleeklens.com
  2. Submit an application, which can be found here

Essay topic:

Students use social media and the internet in all kinds of ways, from keeping in touch with their friends to researching for and submitting assignments. One of the least thought about uses of social media is leveraging it to get a job after college. Discuss some of the ways that you could use social media to get a job after college. What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of using social media to get a job after college?
